Finlay’s Place is a family run business selling fresh local produce including potatoes, eggs and vegetables. After 32

years away in Warwickshire, Finlay has returned to the house where he was born - a solid Georgian farmhouse with

adjoining barns which his father James bought in the early 50s.

Given the location of this property on a main road, it seemed eminently sensible to start selling our produce directly to the public. Fresh, good quality, nutritious fruit and vegetables with minimal food miles. Situated on the A22 just a stone’s throw from Balloo, Killinchy, Co. Down, N. Ireland, we have much to offer the discerning gardener and cook. We offer homegrown strawberries, raspberries, new potatoes and local seasonal vegetables in a rustic setting and welcoming atmosphere. Our Pick Your Own (PYO) is proving extremely popular among the locals in Co. Down.
Buy Fresh, Buy Local at Finlay’s Place, Killinchy By buying locally sourced produce, everyone can contribute to ensuring that a well-managed countryside benefits wildlife and the environment. Buying local produce can directly support local businesses, sustain local employment and keep money in the local economy by cutting out the middleman. Small scale producers are often struggling to compete with large supermarket chains. Buying local produce reduces packaging. Vast quantities of packaging are used to protect produce when it is being transported around the country and even the world. Local produce generally has a minimal amount of packaging which cuts down on the use of valuable natural resources cal food gives an assurance of where the food comes from and how it is produced. Local food is fresh, nutritious food.
